Thanksgiving with Josh, Sarah, & Maddie & Training for Run for Joy
We arrived a week before the actual holiday, so we spent the weekend in Seattle. Bill had some appointments throughout the weekend; I spent relaxing time on Friday with good friends---great lunch, conversation, and some shopping with Chris and Karen, followed by a lovely evening with our husbands at the Harpers....more delicious food and fun conversation, of course. We hung out with Josh and Maddie (Sarah was busy taking care of her Mom, who was recovering from shoulder surgery) when we could over the weekend, sharing some meals together, visiting the Seattle Aquarium, played and Christmas shopped at the mall. On Monday we headed to Snoqualmie to spend a blessed week with Josh, Sarah, and Maddie. I'm still learning how to put things on this blog, so though pictures and videos were taken, they'll be posted later.
This summer will be our second annual Run for Joy to raise money for Breanna's House of Joy and Joy to the World Foundation in Thailand. I'm not sure if the chronic plantar fasciitis I have will allow me to run when it's time, but I'm going to try training for this event anyway. I started about 3 weeks ago, and want to keep track of my progress, so will keep my record here. Yesterday I biked 21.6 miles on the stationary bike, and then walk/jogged (mostly walked!) 3.33 miles in an hour. I actually got my heart rate up to a training level and broke a sweat----that's progress for me! I then did my simple yoga routine for stretching----stretching is so much more fun after a good workout!
